President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti signed on June 10, 2013 a decree on establishment of a new composition of the Supreme Security Council.
Under the presidential decree, the Chairman of the Supreme Security Council is President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti, Supreme Commander of Armed Forces. Moldovan President’s adviser on defence and national security issues Alexei Barbăneagră was appointed the SSC Secretary.
The members of the Supreme Security Council are:
Igor CORMAN – Parliament Chairman
Iurie LEANCA – Prime Minister
Alexandru STOIANOGLO – head of the Parliament’s Commission for National Security, Defence and Public Order
Natalia GHERMAN – Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister
Valeriu LAZĂR – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economics
Eugen CARPOV – Deputy Prime Minister
Vitalie MARINUȚA – Minister of Defence
Dorin RECEAN – Minister of Home Affairs
Veaceslav NEGRUȚA – Minister of Finance
Oleg EFRIM – Minister of Justice
Ion PĂDURARU – Secretary-General of the Institution of the President of the Republic of Moldova
Mihai BALAN – Director of the Security and Information Service of the Republic Moldova
Corneliu GURIN – Prosecutor General
Dorin DRĂGUȚANU – Governor of the National Bank of Moldova
Viorel CHETRARU – Director of the National Anticorruption Centre.
