Moldovan President sends a message of condolences to French counterpart

President Nicolae Timofti today sent a message of condolences to President of France François Hollande, in connection with the tragic terrorist attack that took place in Nice on the National Day of France.

Hereafter, we present the message of the President:

"Your Excellency,

I learned with deep sorrow and indignation about the extremely serious attack occurred in the city of Nice, which resulted in numerous loss of lives and injured people.

In these dramatic moments, on behalf of the Moldovan people and on my own behalf, we want to convey our full sympathy and support to the French nation and to the grieving families – sincere condolences. My thoughts also go to those injured in this unjustified and intolerable attack, whom I wish a soon recovery.

We are in solidarity with the French Republic and vigorously condemn the scourge of terrorism and any acts of violence. At the same time, I would like to reconfirm Moldova's full willingness to cooperate closely in combating such threats."

Also today, a group of presidential advisers laid flowers at the headquarters of the Embassy of France in Chisinau and signed in the condolence book opened at the French diplomatic mission, on behalf of the president of Moldova.
