The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met yesterday with Dominika Stojanoska, UN Women Country Representative. They discussed the crisis of refugees from Ukraine and the progress made by our country in ensuring gender equality for women and men and in combating domestic violence.
The Head of State thanked the UN Women representative for the organisation's involvement in helping refugees from Ukraine. President Sandu also said that combating violence against women and children, discouraging hate speech and economic empowerment of women remain priorities for us. We count on further close partnership with the UN agency in order to find solutions that would allow women in the Republic of Moldova to live free from physical, economic or any other constraints.
