President of the Republic of Moldova held a meeting with the Mission of the International Monetary Fund

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, had a working meeting with a Monitoring Mission of the International Monetary Fund headed by Ruben Atoyan.

The officials discussed several issues regarding bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and the international financial institution. Particularly the parties examined prospects for relaunching of the partnership, which had been stopped under the previous Government of our country.

Igor Dodon also assured the IMF representatives that the entire leadership of Moldova, including the President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Parliament, actively cooperated on all the financial and economic issues, and the Government now enjoys the support of the President and the parliamentary majority.

The Head of the State also noted that our experience in the collaboration with the International Monetary Fund and other international institutions gave us a possibility of building up a responsible, professional, and open dialogue about all problems in economics, social system, finances and energetics.

Igor Dodon assured of the IMF Mission that the President and Government of the Republic of Moldova had no intentions to limit the independence of the National Bank of Moldova and other regulatory institutions. At the same time, the Head of the State insisted on the transparent activity of these institutions.
